Tina Marsh, from Austin, Texas, was the inspiration for The Jazz Loft. When I saw her band perform in Seattle, I could not beleive what I was hearing. CreOp's music ranges from sophisticated chamber-like passages, to upbeat bebop to free jazz. Gil Evans, Carla Bley and Ellington come to mind! When I couldn't find copies of her great discs, I decided there was a need for an online source for independent jazz. The rest will be history.
