| Recorded live at 2001's Vision Festival in front of a decidedly partisan audience, this album features alto saxophonist Jemeel Moondoc's ten-piece band (here billed as a tentet, whereas the ensemble's earlier outing on Eremite, Spirit House, went under the name of the Jus Grew Orchestra) in a relatively relaxed 45-minute set heavily rooted in the Ellington/bop/blues tradition. |
ARTISTS Jemeel Moondoc (alto sax); Zane Massey (tenor sax); Michael Marcus (baritone sax); Roy Campbell (trumpet); Nathan Breedlove (trumpet); Steve Swell (trombone); Tyron Hill (trumpet); Bern Nix (guitar); John Voight (bass); Gerald Cleaver (drums) |
