This is the fourth in a series of recordings done by trumpeter Brad Goode in the early 90's in Chicago. Like the previous three (SCCD 31500, 31501 and 31531) the band features Goode and his regular band at the time including: Paul McKee (trombone), Ron Perrillo (piano), Stewart Miller (bass), and Bob Rummage (drums) along with Von Freeman on tenor sax. This time the festivities take place at Chicago's primer jazz club The Green Mill where Goode and his band held court every Wednesday for 12 years. In his review of "Inside Chicago - vol. 1 (SCCD 31500) Harvey Pekar states "If anyone ever asks you to explain all the fuss about Von Freeman, play this.
