Three excellent musicians already known on productions of the brambus jazz family team up as the NICK PERRIN TRIO, which is based in acoustic-jazz and present their first masterpiece, which has been recorded in spring 2003 at Swiss national radio DRS2 in Zurich. Nick Perrin is one of the leading jazz-guitarplayer and has recorded on productions with Stewy von Wattenwyl or Mya N for brambus records. The drummer Peter Horisberger found international attention on the sides of Art Farmer, Ray Anderson, Clark Terry, Sandy Patton or George Robert and the greek bassplayer Giorgos Antoniou established his name on the side of Joe Haider or George Gruntz.
The trio plays acoustic-jazz with a very wide repertoire which mostly contains selfpenned tracks by Nick Perrin and Giorgos Antoniou, placed somewhere in between swing, waltz, latin and ballads. In addition to this, there are some interpretations and arrangements of well-known jazzstandards. Leading are Nick Perrins solo acoustic guitar arrangements, which document, that the at the jazz school in Bern well educated artist can easily be named in the surrounding of Wes Montgomery, Pat Metheny or Philip Catherine. |
