| Another new name in the exciting Brambus Jazz family that you should keep in mind: Markus Moser. The young Swiss scene seems to have two big legs with surrounding members: one is around Zurich with artists like Chris Wiesendanger, Herbie Kopf, Andreas Brugger and more (all Brambus recording artists!) and the other is around the cities of Bern and Biel with exponents like Tomas Sauger, Jan Galega Bronnimann, Stewy von Wattenwyl (also all Brambus recording artists).
In the second circuit, Markus Moser is one of the leading electric and acoustic guitar players and composers, which can be easily judged after listening to this outstanding production, which features other great artists from their area, like Eliane Cueni (piano organ), Jan Galega Bronnimann (tenor and soprano sax), Emanuel Schnyder (electric and acoustic bass) and Christoph Staudenmann (drums). The Brambus releases document the wide spectrum of the young, modern Swiss jazz. Very earthy on the one side, letting the sky explode on the other. And with the wide range of creative ideas in the compositions, the ten recorded titles are produced with a nice sentimental mood, without losing on dynamics and virtuosity. These internationally renowned artists were able to record with the same intensity as their concert approach. |
