| There are only a few jazzguitar players who are as filled with the blues as Sandro Schneebeli, who came from the Italian part of Switzerland and surprises with a great understanding of jazz, rhythm'n'blues, soul, and funk.
With excellent sidemen like Stewy Von Wattenwyl (well known from several of his own Brambus releases!) on Hammond Organ and Daniel Aebi on Drums, he found the ideal instrumentation for his self-penned compositions, but also for some less known jazz standards. Excellent guests like Sandy Patton (vocals), George Robert (alto saxophone) and more lend feeling to each track.
Listening to several tracks of the album, you quickly discover the great combination of the semi-acoustic guitar with the good old Hammond Organ, but also the outstanding quality of solo works of each of the recording artists.
Even if only founded a little more than a year ago, the Sandro Schneebeli Group has already played at the famous Bern Jazz Festival 1999, finished a first tour, and did this great recording session at the studio of Rete Ticino, the Swiss national radio station in southern Switzerland. And you can be sure, there is more to come and more to be heard of that group, which is warmly welcomed into the Brambus Jazz Family! |
