Wherever the songs may have their roots, Standards Of Rumantsch carries the compositions into the new milennium, combining traditional melodies with contemporary jazz influences in all their stylistic facets. The familiar tunes remained thereby unchanged, however new harmonic and rhythmic arrangements and instrumentations were applied.
The musical journey begins with the bell ringing of the Postplatz in Chur. Fontaunas Clar Resunan resounds there several times a day during a certain time of the year. This classic from the Romansh choir literature is taken up by the band and brought to the roots of jazz, the blues.
