| In this second CD release of Chuchos Valdés on Yemayá Records, he recorded in Areito Studios (La Habana, Cuba) featuring the extraordinary Buena Vista Social Club’s Orlando “Cachaito” Lopez (bass), Arturo Sandoval (trumpet), Carlos Averhoff (sax), Carlos del Puerto (bass), Carlos Emilio Morales (guitar), Enrique Plá (drums) and Guillermo Barreto (cuban percussion), among others. Also featuring saxo and clarinet virtuoso’s Paquito D’Rivera in one bonus track!!
There are also pieces recorded by his jazz trio. Other small format tunes include “En Nosotros” featuring Valdés in a jazz quartet with Arturo Sandoval. Also you can find danceable music with a rhythmic jazz base; the tumbaos, the organ and the refrains, that give it its own unique flavor.
