| Recorded in 2000.In a nifty follow up to their debut, 33.3 add upright bass and a trombone; the resulting sound is a little more refined, a little smoother, and a little jazzier, thick with major seventh chords and friendly little melodies. There's also a laid back vibe and a pastel-hued tenor to the disc that faintly recalls the mood of the Claude Bolling/Jean-Pierre Rampal SUITE FOR FLUTE AND JAZZ PIANO recording that caught so many ears in the early '70s.Electric guitar, bass, horn, cello and drums combine with sophisticated arrangements to create a sound that straddles the worlds of chamber jazz, classical, and post-rock. In the end, you can only call it music. And 33.3 are just fine with that.
...A jazzy push-and-pull affair filled with intelligent arrangements...
