| The Vinny Golia Large Ensemble has been together for 24 years now and in 2002 they celebrated their 20th Anniversary with a concert on the New Directions series presented by Calfornia Institute of the Arts. The concert, which featured premiere performances of six pieces created for this expanded ensemble, was recorded, but later they found it had been filmed with 3 digital cameras by friends of the ensemble. From that footage, they produced this DVD of the concert and later included interviews of various members of the ensemble and some rehearsal footage. The ensemble's DVD provides a chance to see many of the West Coast's most outstanding creative musicians in performance and certainly showcases the many aspects of this ensemble's uniqueness. Recorded March 15, 2002. DVD - ALL REGIONS. NTSC. |
