MP3: Track 7 |
 |
| Matt Davignon revisited several tracks he recorded between 1994 and 1997 which he refers to as his "pop song" period, through the use of live television, tape machines, and delay pedal feedback. He then mixed them into new slow motion versions, shifting several of them in reverse. The resulting tracks are unusual music to be played in 4/4 tempo much like an imaginary 40 foot tall upset stomach. Other tracks sound like misunderstood exaggerations of trip-hop.
" It's a TV cartoon show flickering in a tornado."
- Johnny Loftus - All Music Guide
" these slowed-down multi-instrumental collages make
for a compellingly dense listening experience, often appropriating a menacing mutant strain of trip-hop."
- Splendid
"... Davignon is really on to something here... This
album is an experience that never fails to excite."
- J Worley A&A |
