| Feet First Records is privileged to release a debut recording by a new outstanding talent - composer, song-writer, lyricist, vocalist, pianist, and performer, Jo Hill. She composes and sings in a unique jazz-related style which it is difficult to attach a label to. An attentive ear will probably hear some influence of Annette Peacock, although Jo Hill is her own woman through and through. On the nine pieces recorded in the studio one can find hersolo work for piano, piano and voice, compositions for piano, voice, bass and drums, as well as instrumental pieces for up to five musicians.
On this CD she is accompanied by Jerome Davis - bass, Paul Clarvis - percussion, Neil May - bass, Paul May - percussion, Manus Rudnick -clarinet.. |
