| Lost live material from Bill Evans -- recorded at the end of the 60s, during a time when Evans was at the height of his expressive powers! The material is from Evans' 1969 performance at the Pescara Jazz Festival in Italy -- and was recorded for radio, but also issued briefly on 2 Japanese limited edition CDs. The work's united here in one single disc package that contains the full performance -- a wonderfully laidback and lyrical set that features bass work by Eddie Gomez and drums by Marty Morrell -- on a batch of 11 tracks that includes "Emily", "Alfie", "Who Can I Turn To", "Very Early", "Round Midnight", "Come Rain Or Come Shine", and "Waltz For Debby". The sound quality is surprisingly nice, and the set has a really warm, intimate feel. |
