| Beautiful Bill Evans material from the mid 70s -- recorded with that really gentle approach to the keys he was using at the time -- a sound that seems to flow magically out of the piano on its own accord! The set's surprisingly well recorded for a live date -- captured in an intimate setting at Epalinges in February of 1975 -- in a way that's so soft, you can hardly hear Evans' fingers striking the keys, as notes flow out in magical streams of color and tone -- while Eddie Gomez deepens the sound with some rounded lower tones on bass, and Eliot Zigmund tipples in a slight bit of accompaniment on drums. Titles include "Morning Glory", "Sareen Jurer", "Time Remembered", "Midnight Mood", "Turn Out The Stars", "Gloria's Step", and "Sugar Plum". |
