Spanish pianist Chano Dominguez is a member of the world's piano elite. He is one of the people to have set the agenda for the ever more popular flamenco and jazz fusion. Some of the music on this cd is recorded live, some in the. studio, and it consists of a Thad Jones composition, three tunes by Chano Dominguez, two by Yadam Gonzáles, one by Billy Strayhorn and finally the standard "Softly As In The Morning Sunrise". As the choice of music indicates, "SI!" is an open-minded mixture of the best of many worlds; there is Spanish passion, rhythmic Cuban drive and Nordic coolness. In other words: a sensual and energetic mixture of flamenco, rumba and jazz - "cool Latin jazz".
