This dvd series of about 35 hours of super-rare Sun Ra material is being released two dvd volumes at a time - packaged with texts by Sun Ra and exclusive photography. The series is proudly being released with the cooperation and endorsement of the Sun Ra organization.

In this volume, the Arkestra prove that they are the true heirs to the Duke Ellington Orchestra, yet with the futuristic edge that is only Sun Ra. Here they have perhaps their most traditional big band sound, with long ever-changing instrumental pieces that have the Arkestra's ultra-unique combined African and Egyptian vibe. Lots of percussion, beautiful vocals by June Tyson, amazing solos by both John Gilmore and Marshall Allen as well as other band members.
