This dvd series of about 35 hours of super-rare Sun Ra material is being released two dvd volumes at a time - packaged with texts by Sun Ra and exclusive photography. The series is proudly being released with the cooperation and endorsement of the Sun Ra organization.

The Arkestra is smokin' hot! Sun Ra's gifts as arranger, band leader and soloist are never more apparent. Just when you think the band couldn't possibly get any hotter, it all floats down to several Ra piano solos, then either piano/trumpet or piano/sax duets, then back to the entire band - even hotter each time 'round - giving way to several Sun Ra vocals, including "This World Is Not My Home" and even "Let's Go Fly A Kite". June Tyson plays violin, and the second set ends with a great 'African lounge' piece. No other group can mix traditional and 'outside' with such genius.
