Live at Myron's Ballroom

An obscure live set from the Sun Ra Arkestra at Myron's Ballroom in LA from 1981 -- their first Los Angeles appearance in a decade with an extended performance. The 3CD package features over 3 hours of music -- a slow-building concert that has plenty of spare moments at the start, with lots of keyboards from Ra -- then draws into a tighter, more soulful focus as things move on -- making keen use of John Gilmore's tenor and also including some vocals from June Tyson. Tracks aren't listed, but the concert features a version of "Enlightenment" with vocals by Ra, as well as a take on "Space Is The Place". 184 Minutes.
