The package brings to light some key material from the Arkestra's under-documented live sets in LA -- a 1985 performance that's presented here with little in the way of notes or personnel, but which is done in that genre-crossing style the group used often in live dates as the 80s moved on -- an approach that has them stepping easily through many generations of jazz as the set progresses -- inside one moment, and very outside the next!
