CONFIRMATION is the first album after the release of PORTRAIT OF SHEILA JORDAN in 1962 from Blue Note. Sheila Jordan waited more than a decade for an opportunity to sing the kind of songs she likes with the musicians she liked to perform with. She said if given a chance to record another album, she would dedicate it to her daughter Tracy and to children all over the world. She got that chance. The first side of the original LP, consisting of five tracks, relate to children in one way or another. She brings her distinct improvisational style, which was influenced mostly by instrumentalists like Charlie Parker rather then singers, and makes each of the songs uniquely her own. Sheila still performs "Pearlie’s Swine" as part of her live repertoire.
