| In summer 2001 Uri Caine travelled to Rio to meet with the Brazilian music scene. He performed with Samba groups, street musicians, singers, percussion players and Latin Jazz musicians. The result is an album filled with the real life and atmosphere of Rio.
Most of Caine's albums reflect musical elements from Brazil, such as Gustav Mahler's Primal Light, and the trio album Blue Wail. In 1999 Caine made his first Audio Film about Tin Pan Alley, The Sidewalks of New York. This new CD Rio is an Audio Film about the music, atmosphere and street sounds of Rio de Janeiro. |
