The DVD includes the 1957 James Dean Story -- a documentary on the career of Dean, directed by a young Robert Altman, and featuring clips from films, interviews with family and friends, and other archival footage from Dean's life.

The CD features the original score, composed by Leith Stevens, arranged by Bill Holman and Johnny Mandel -- and one of the nicest big band dates to come out of the Pacific Jazz catalog of the 1950s! Chet Baker and Bud Shank are the featured soloists of the set -- and the group's conducted by Johnny Mandel and Bill Holman.
