Recorded on January 25, 1976 at The Vanguard Studios in New York, all six tracks featured in this album are Hill’s originals. The fourth track called “Hattie” is named after his mother. Accompanying him are Richard Davis on bass and Roger Blank on drums. Richard Davis has recorded with Andrew Hill on over 9 of Hill’s albums and considers Davis one of the best bassists playing today. Roger Blank is known for his work with Sun Ra, Frank Foster and Pharoah Sanders. This album was engineered and produced by the late great David Baker.
