| Blues In The Basement is a great showcase for Hendrickson-Smith's compositions as well his infectiously groovy tenor playing. My particular favorites are the super funky Big Weeds which is a tough melody to get our of your head, 'Jacobs New Crib,' a reworked version from the previous one that appeared on Still Smokin and Hey Baby which is a gorgeous ballad with a very memorable melody. Ian is complimented by a fantastic group of musicians some of which are also in the DAP KINGS that back up SHARON JONES. I suspect that Blues In The Basement will be in your CD player on repeat for sometime. If you get the urge to dance don't be embarrassed, turn up the volume, close your eyes and start shaking it!
