|With Buffalo Age the Danish drummer and composer Peter Bruun presents a unique collaboration with the highly acclaimed clarinet and saxophone player Chris Speed (USA). The music of the band emerges from the personal musical languages of the individual band members and takes the form of experimental jazz.
Since the 1990s Chris Speed has gained attention as an influential improviser and as a part of the innovative jazz scene in New York. With his captivating improvisational style he has performed with Human Feel, John Zorn, Tim Berne and Dave Douglas among others.
Kasper Tranberg has been active on the Danish and European scene for 15 years. He has performed with musicians such as Ray Anderson, Joe Lovano, Steve Swallow, Tim Berne, Django Bates and Chris Potter.
Nils Davidsen has likewise been active on the experimental scene for many years and has played with Copenhagen Art ensemble, Django Bates, Pierre Dørge and Tim Berne among others.
Peter Bruun is the orchestra leader of Buffalo Age, the composer of the band’s music, and the youngest musician in the band. In recent years Peter Bruun has positioned himself as a personal voice on the Danish music scene playing with, among others, Jesper Zeuthen, Lotte Anker, Mold and his own band Radar. And in addition to this he has played with Django Bates, Evan Parker and Michael Blake.
