| 2-disc set. 'Sweet Talker: The Best of Karin Krog', features the work of the renowned jazz artist Karin Krog who is celebrating her 50th year as an artist in the entertainment industry. It is also a homage to her life-long work as a jazz innovator which very few artists - international or otherwise - can match.
Consisting of 30 choice tracks from her vast catalogue of recordings spanning from 1963 to today, the two-CD compilation also features an Enhanced-CD, consisting of two films. One is a slideshow of images from Karin Krog's career, and the other is a filmed segment of Karin singing "My Foolish Heart" in the studio. Also included, are two bonus tracks that appear on CD for the first time ever: "Break of Day in Molde" and her very first recording from 1963, "Sånn Lager Man Pop-Plater". Her very hip recording of "Watermelon Man" is also included, and is additionally remixed by New York DJ Ben Surman.
From winning the Downbeat Reader's Poll in 1969 and throughout her career, Karin Krog has worked with some of jazz's finest: Jan Gabarek, Dexter Gordon, John Surman, Don Ellis, Archie Shepp, Kenny Drew, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen, Jon Christensen and Arild Andersen are just some of the notable musicians performing on tracks on 'Sweet Talker'. In her unique stylized singing voice, Karin Krog reinterprets classic standards as well as her own compositions. |
