In 1980, at the age of 14, Bireli Lagrene released his first album "Routes To Django." Recognized as a genius of the gypsy guitar, Bireli before dedicating a large part of his repertoire to his model, Django Reinhardt, performed rock, fusion or jazz titles with major artists such as McLaughlin, Larry Coryell, Jaco Pastorius and Stephane Grappelli. Since Gypsy Project (2000), Bireli Lagrene has become a major representative of gypsy music. Bireli and his Gipsy Project group have been touring non-stop since 2001, playing their high adrenaline gypsy swing for sold out crowds in America and abroad. With nearly 100,000 albums sold worldwide (nearly 20,000 in the US), Bireli Lagrene and Gipsy Project are nothing short of a phenomenon.
