This is the second CD on Leo Records by the incredible new talent Szilard Mezei from Serbia & Montenegro. His first CD "Draught" recorded by his International Ensemble got in the top ten albums of 2006 by many jazz writers including Art Lange of Down Beat. The second CD was recorded live at the Cerkno Jazz Festival in Slovenia, May 2006, by his quintet. It consists of 11 compositions spread over 75 minutes. Szilard Mezei's music is full of power and passion, his viola flies and swings, and his motivators Charles Mingus and Duke Ellington would be proud of him. |
