Glasgow, Scotland would appear to be an unlikely location for a major jazz artist to record an album, although it did host one of the largest international jazz festivals in Europe since 1987.
This recording of Lee Konitz and Harold Danko actually came about when it was suggested to Lee that he might want to record as he came to the end of his European tour. He liked the idea of documenting this particular duo so it because a question of where and when.
This disc features the previously unreleased, 'It's You' written by Lee Konitz and previously unreleased alternate takes of Chick Corea's 'Hairy Canary' and George Russells' 'Ezz-thetic.' Interestingly, the programme also includes a Konitz/Danko arrangement of Chopin's Prelude No. 20.
