This album has its roots in Alabama’s Muscle Shoals, the recording Mecca for Rhythm & Blues, and Blues-Rock music. The Pete Scheips Band have an affinity for tuneful vocal melodies and sweet dual-Blues-guitar leads in the style of the Allman Brothers. Original Allman’s drummer Jaimoe plays on this album, as does former Dickey Betts collaborator; Matt Zeiner, on keyboards and vocals. The songs on "Back On The Bluestrain" run the course from lilting ballads to a shuffle to some harder-edged Blues-Rock tunes, with just the right shade of blue. |
