The other members of his quartet are : Don Trenner, piano; Peter Axelsson, bass; Ronnie Gardener, drumsRecorded at Stockholm’s Jazz & Blues Festival - June 13, 1980, this DVD features six Mulligan compositions plus "Bernie's Tune" by Leiber & Stoller Considered one of the few jazz masters of baritone sax, Gerry Mulligan (1927-1996) became one of the most innovative figures of the cool jazz movement. He was also an extraordinary composer and arranger - for instance on Miles Davis’ seminal 1949 "Birth of the Cool" album. His '50s piano-less quartet recordings with Chet Baker were highly significant; and he also fronted his own amazing all-star ‘Concert Jazz Band’ in the ‘60s. 7 tracks - Total Time: 53 min. approx. - Colour / Mono.
