One of a number of excellent sessions recorded by pianist Curtis Clark in the Netherlands during the 80s -- this one, a quintet side that features work by cellist Ernst Reyseger, plus alto by Michael Moore, drums by Don Mumford, and bass by Ernst Glerum. Moore's alto really adds a lot to the session -- giving it a soulful, snakey sort of feel -- one that recall's Steve Lacy's early work, and which brings a warmth to the album.
