180-gram audiophile vinyl with heavyweight sleeves packed in a slipcover box.  New 2008 mixes by Nick Davis.  Half-speed mastering!

In the beginning, there was vinyl. GENESIS 1970-1975-produced by Genesis' Tony Banks, Phil Collins and Mike Rutherford-is the third of three boxed sets covering the legendary band's epic career. The five-album, six-disc vinyl edition reaches back to Genesis' earliest years, when Peter Gabriel was out front on lead vocals and collectively, the group was defining progressive rock with its adventurous sound. Rhino's collectible box was pressed on 180-gram audiophile vinyl and features new stereo mixes by Nick Davis for an extraordinary listening experience in the format in which this groundbreaking music was first released.

The LPs featured-Trespass, Nursery Cryme, Foxtrot, Selling England By The Pound and the double album The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway-will only be available as part of GENESIS 1970-1975, and will not be for sale individually. Housed together in a protective slipcase box, each of the five albums is packaged in a heavyweight gatefold LP sleeve featuring the classic cover art faithfully reproduced from its original source.

When GENESIS 1970-1975 first came out in 2008 as a 7-CD/6-DVD edition, David Fricke's review in Rolling Stone rated it 4-_ stars out of 5. Fricke wrote of the original music, “The country-cathedral air of 1970's Trespass and the prog-garage jolts on 1971's Nursery Cryme fuse to perfection in Gabriel's theatrical fables of greed and struggle in a fading Britain on 1972's Foxtrot and 1973's Selling England by the Pound. His story line on 1974's The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway is still impenetrable. Now the album just sounds like a set of ingenious songs that didn't need a suite to make them art.”
