2009 release featuring a rare live performance from the Jazz great. This Milan performance took place several months after the departure of Eric Dolphy, who for little more than a year had transformed the quartet into a quintet. Now, Trane was back to being the only horn and he embarked on improvisations that steadily became freer and freer.
Recorded live at Teatro Dell'Arte, Milan, Italy on December 2, 1962.
Cuts 5-6 are bonus tracks recorded at L'Olympia, Paris, France on November 17, 1962. Cuts 7-8 were recorded in June or July, 1963 at Le Tete de L'Art, Montreal, Canada.
