Timeless Blue Note Releases on LP & CD in One Affordable Package! LP Mastered From Original Analog Tapes! No music label represented the classic jazz era better than Blue Note Records, which has proudly reissued several of its landmark titles on Vinyl + Bonus CD sets. Each LP is mastered from the original analog tapes by Ron McMaster, while each state-of-the-art CD is mastered in 24-bit by Rudy Van Gelder, the original recording engineer of these historic sessions. These are iconic albums, not just because of the music inside, but also for the legendary album covers, which are works of art in themselves.
Alfred Lion considered Midnight Blue his favorite production, and well he should. Without piano, Kenny Burrell, Stanley Turrentine, and company get a clean, open sound and deep groove on such now-classic compositions as the title tune and "Chitlins Con Carne," which has become a blues band staple. The CD version includes two bonus tracks not found on the original LP.
