The DS5.5 is a larger speaker than the DS4.5 and is engineered for
larger spaces and or higher sound pressure levels.
the DS5.5's have a great bass output reaching down to 50 Hz. This is an
over-performing level of bass reproduction in a speaker this size. If
you do use a sub, it can be crossed over very low, so it becomes
un-localizable or transparent. The overall result when blended with our
silk dome tweeter is nothing short of musical.
