| Composer, arranger, pianist, vibraphonist,
conductor and educator, Karl Berger steps out on his own here for a
brilliant solo piano recital. Structured as a series of variations and
etudes, these moody and spiritually charged compositions showcase
Berger’s unique and rarely heard piano stylings. Active since the
mid-1950s, Berger has collaborated in concert and on recordings with
many of the world’s greatest musicians, was the head of the Music
department at Dartmouth and the Hochschule in Frankfurt and ran the
legendary Creative Music Studio from its inception in 1971 until its
untimely demise in 1984. |
