Another Django Reinhardt-related release, in 2010 - celebrating 100 years since his birth - but this is a rather different project, combining new big band arrangements of Django favourites, fronted by the incredible new French gypsy jazz guitarist, Adrien Moignard. Sounds as if it shouldn’t work, but it does - thanks to the subtle playing of the immaculate Danish Radio Big Band, the sensitive arrangements, and not least, the superb technical ability and passion of Moignard’s guitar work.
