180-gram Rhino reissue. Includes the large poster from the original issue.
Originally released in 1971, A Nod Is As Good As A Wink...To A Blind Horse was the legendary group's first LP without "Small" in their band name. And the Faces indeed made a big splash with this shambling, rockin' masterpiece. A Top 10 album in Billboard - peaking at #6 - it delivered their first smash hit, "Stay With Me." This reissue on 180-gram vinyl is mastered from the original analog tapes and is one amazing, long-playing, nine-track party. The Faces - Rod Stewart (vocals), Ronnie Lane (guitar), Ian McLagan (keyboards), Ronnie Lane (bass), and Kenney Jones (drums) - were at the peak their game on this Glyn Johns - produced LP. In addition to "Stay With Me," stand-outs include "Miss Judy's Farm," "You're So Rude," and their definitive cover of Chuck Berry's "Memphis." The album was released the same year as Rod Stewart's landmark solo LP Every Picture Tells A Story, which had the Faces imprint all over it as well, making 1971 an extraordinary year for these lads.
