Pablo Held has created music that is enormously rich. Contrast, color, and interaction: these are the essential catchwords that best capture the sense and sensibility of his new project. A completely new facet of Pablo Held's music emerges here: this is music from someone who deals masterfully with this remarkable formation. Music that lives - one can sense that the musician's teamwork was truly inspired. Pablo Held has created something big, both personally and musically.

Very good jazz ensemble led by young German pianist Pablo Held. The music is hard to describe but very pleasant and interesting. There's kind of an ECM sound, in places like late 60's Miles Davis, and overall the approach is structured free jazz. The original compositions are generally pretty good, but the real interest, for me, is the jazz improv. My only criticism is that with such a great group, there should be more room for the musicians to stretch out and jam, as they do on a couple of cuts. Thankfully there are no drum solos.
