180-gram audiophile vinyl. The brainchild of classically trained musician, Vini Reilly, who took the band's name and idea of putting their first release in a sandpaper sleeve (so as to 'destroy all other albums on the shelf', from the avant-garde Situationist International movement), but Reilly himself, DC's only constant member, was (and is) 100% Manchester. Releasing a steady stream of experimental albums on the legendary Factory Records (Joy Division, New Order, Happy Mondays, etc.) beginning in 1981. Originally released on the Factory Benelux label in 1986, Circuses And Bread was DC's fifth in a steady stream of excellent and experimental studio albums, featuring viola, trumpet, and piano interspersed with Reilly's stellar guitar work. Remastered in 2008.
