| Previous releases by Katja Cruz were firmly in the style of improvised music. However, this one, Mi Corazon, is a very special blend of Argentinian, Brazilian and Cuban rhythms. Out of ten pieces, seven were composed and written by Katja Cruz and the members of her band. They are an original blend of tangos, sambas, rumbas, and salsas. Katja works in the Orixa tradition called Candomble. Although this CD does not quite fit the catalogue of Leo Records, this is our tribute to the manysided talent of Katja Cruz. This has always been the policy of Leo Records that once we start to support an artist we'll support him/her to the hilt. |
