Principally recorded at Glover Studios, Bronx, New York.
You don't have to be a Christian to enjoy Alan Glover's "The Anticipated Dawn." You won't even realize that this is Christian music. There's no preaching here and there's no disguised message. It’s just good, solid jazz. Glover's original tunes are at times dissonant and at times breathtakingly beautiful. But they're always great songs — great for the nonbeliever and unbelievable to the believer.
- Laura Edwards Florence Morning News - (Florence, South Carolina) Friday May 19, 2000
Hard bop, avant-garde, straight-ahead spiritual jazz, Recommended if you like John Coltrane, Ben Webster, Roland Kirk.
