| Released in 1984 to universal acclaim, the appropriately titled third album, Treasure from the Cocteau Twins saw the band reaching unprecedented new heights. Their sound developed into a far less definite structure, they began to blur the edges even more, and it was in true Cocteau's fashion unlike anything anyone had ever heard before. At the same time Treasure still manages to sound and feel both very natural and compelling. The songs themselves rely heavily on effects and the titles have whimsical phrase-like names which only add to the album's heavenly nature. Remastered from the original tapes and pressed on high quality 180g vinyl housed in a beautiful new gatefold sleeve designed by Vaughan Oliver. |
