The Last Set is the impressive and worthy legacy of a unique musician full of curiosity, versatility, persuasiveness, and technical brilliance, all of which live on in Leszek Mozdzer’s playing and on this recording! Walter Norris was one of the silent heroes of jazz piano, who played with greats such as Stan Getz, Dexter Gordon, Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Orchestra, Charles Mingus, and Ornette Coleman. This is his final recording before his passing in 2011.
